UTSA's Communication degree is a flexible program that leads to a multitude of careers due to its importance in every industry. In this broad program, youll learn to translate your existing writing, editing, research and presentation skills into marketable assets. Developing these skills will open the door to a variety of industries like telecommunications, advertising, public relations, marketing and corporate communication.<br>UTSA is all about your success. Our experiential learning initiative takes what you learn in the classroom and helps you apply it to real life. As a student in the College of Liberal & Fine Arts (COLFA), you will explore, engage and reflect on your experiences to launch your career in a global society. The COLFA Student Success Center is a one-stop resource to help you achieve your academic, personal and professional goals. Receive tutoring, find internships, connect with industry professionals for job opportunities, and enhance your professional development skills through the center's comprehensive programming. The Department of Communication offers a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree and a minor in Communication and a B.A. degree in Digital Media Influence. Honors may also be earned in Communication. If a student majors in Communication, they also may choose to concentrate their coursework in either Public Relations, Digital Communication, or Health Communication.<br>The Health Communication concentration provides specialized knowledge on how individuals, organizations, and societies communicate about health. Topics range from provider-patient interactions and the role of media in health communication to global public health. This concentration combines theoretical and applied approaches, making it valuable for students aiming to enhance their experiences in the healthcare system, prepare for further academic studies in health communication, or pursue healthcare-related careers in the private, federal, or global sectors.
