The Advertising Specialization at UWF prepares students to pursue careers with advertising agencies, advertisers, and the media in marketing, account management, media, sales, promotion, and creative design. Students specializing in advertising at the University of West Florida learn how strategically developed advertising impacts the media, the consumers and our society. Our program provides hands-on, immersive courses that allow students to develop strategies as well as creative elements for print and digital media properties. Combined with classes that teach our majors how to craft well-written copy and persuade audiences using effective storytelling techniques, UWF's advertising program prepares graduates for positions in the field across various industries. As a capstone course option, Communication majors in the advertising specialization have the opportunity to apply for UWF's National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) team. Sponsored by the American Advertising Federation, the NSAC team represents the university by developing an integrated marketing communications campaign for a national client. In fact, UWF is the only university in the country to hold three national titles in the competition.
