The ISU Department of Communication offers a vibrant and stimulating master's degree program. Many industry leaders and distinguished university educators and administrators across the country and around the world have graduated from our program. We currently offer the opportunity to further your studies in Communication and Culture, Journalism, Media Studies, Public Relations, and other specialties in the department. The typical M.A. program is completed in two years, though it is possible to complete an even more accelerated program with guidance from an advisor. Specifically, our program is designed as a small group experience where you will receive personalized attention and guidance, often working one-on-one with faculty. We are also excited to announce that the M.A. in Communication is undergoing significant curricular changes that we expect to be in place starting in Fall 2020. Always striving to meet the needs and best prepare our students we are undergoing a reorganization that is currently under review at the university-level. Under the new program students will have the opportunity to enroll in one of four specializations including: Digital Media; Leadership; Public Advocacy; and Health Communication.
