Your studies will start with a foundation in communication theory, mass media history, and story writing. You’ll perform research about topical issues in order to critically evaluate the messages and effects of modern communication. You’ll focus on the area of communication that most closely aligns with your goals by choosing one of several concentrations. You can also pursue a general communication degree combined with courses in other subjects related to your career objective, such as political science. A degree in communication with a concentration in advertising and public relations, film and television production or journalism specified on the diploma is the choice of students who wish to specialize in a field. The general communication major, on the other hand, permits students to individualize their degrees, either in order to explore subjects of personal interest or to prepare for a career objective other than the concentration areas.
