Applicants are ordinarily expected to hold a bachelor’s degree from a college or university of recognized standing prior to registration, and should have achieved a grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or higher. Three-year Bologna bachelor's degree recipients are eligible for admission.

The minimum Internet-Based Test (iBT) scores required for admission are the following: Writing 18; Speaking 18; Listening 14;Reading 19; Total 80

The minimum paper-delivered section requirements are the following (overall score is no longer reported): Reading 19; Listening 14; Writing 18

IELTS - An overall band score of 6.5 is required for admission with the following minimum section requirements: Reading 6.5; Listening 6.0; Speaking 6.0; Writing 5.5

The graduate program in Rhetoric and Composition at Purdue is located in the Department of English. Our graduates work in a variety of different professional positions as: faculty members, writing program and writing center administrators, graduate program directors, department heads and other higher administrative positions, editors, usability experience designers, and professional and technical writers/managers.<br><br>We support our students throughout their time in our program through: extensive mentoring, teaching, tutoring, and administration experience, opportunities for research support and cooperative study, resources for preliminary exams, dissertation mentoring, and a dedicated, faculty-led course for support during the job market year.
