Philosophy calls on the power of reason to investigate the world and ourselves, but it is far more than an intellectual exercise. As a philosophy student, you'll learn to think and write critically about society's very foundations - from the conceptual building blocks of the arts and sciences to the ideas that underlie modern social and political institutions. Not only will you become a sharp thinker and persuasive writer, the study of philosophy is excellent preparation for graduate and professional school. In fact, philosophy students are more successful in being admitted to law and medical schools than students from almost any other field.
