Faith and Reason is the motto of Catholic University's School of Philosophy. As a philosophy major, you will study the history of philosophy and engage in contemporary arguments about God, nature, and the human person. Your professors will guide you through the works of people like Aristotle, Thomas Aquinas, and Nietzsche, and encourage you to explore philosophical questions systematically and rigorously. At Catholic University, philosophy is pursued in the context of the Catholic intellectual tradition, a tradition that has made many contributions to the history of ideas, and challenges many of the unspoken assumptions of contemporary society.
