The Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures offers the following four options leading to the M.A. degree in Languages, Literatures and Cultures with specializations in Spanish: Departmental MA: selective focus on literature, language, and culture (2 years), Interdisciplinary MA: language, literature and culture as well as another field in the humanities (2 years), Joint MA: combination of a Foreign Language and Literatures M.A. and an English M.A. (TESL) (3 years). Graduate students can be offered assistantships, scholarships, or an hourly position as the Manager of the LLC Language Lab. Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs) are selected based on their linguistic competence in the Foreign Language and on their experience. They typically teach first and second semester courses in their language of study (French, Spanish). Scholarhips might also be available for graduate students who do not teach. The Language Lab Manager position is offered annually to a non-teaching, admitted graduate student.
