To apply for graduate study in Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies, you must first complete the University of Oregon Online Graduate Application. It is important to review all of the UO procedures outlined by the UO Graduate School before you start your application:
Applicants are ordinarily expected to submit a sample of their academic writing, such as a term paper or undergraduate thesis. This writing sample may be in either English or Russian. Again, applicants who have been away from the university for many years may feel that their undergraduate papers do not reflect their current intellectual level

Letters should ideally speak to your academic qualifications and potential, which is to say that university professors who know you well can usually write the most effective recommendations.

The MA program in Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies is inherently interdisciplinary. Students take courses across departments, including but not limited to anthropology, art history, business, comparative literature, geography, journalism, law, linguistics, music, history, political science, religious studies, and sociology. These courses count towards a REEES MA, provided that one-third of the coursework deals with the region.<br><br>Within our dynamic interdisciplinary master's program, graduate students explore Russian, East European, and Eurasian studies through courses in a host of departments across the UO, from anthropology and art history to political science and religious studies.<br>Our excellent faculty, coupled with our strong Slavic library and museum collections, makes the UO an ideal place to study. REEES offers two pathways for graduate students: an interdisciplinary master's degree and a graduate certificate. Many of our graduates have been accepted to prestigious PhD programs, while others have launched successful careers in a range of fields.<br>The master of arts in Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies requires 40 graded graduate-level credits (passed with a grade of B- or better) and 9 thesis credits (taken Pass/No Pass) for a total of 49 graduate credits. Courses used to fulfill the language requirement may not be applied to the 49-credit requirement. The MA in Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies typically takes two years (or six academic quarters) to complete. The program offers a master of arts (MA) and a graduate certificate in Russian, East European, and Eurasian studies.
