Majors in DAMELL are available for students who plan to study Arabic, Chinese, Hebrew, or Japanese language and literature. The curriculum is also designed to accommodate both students with a broad cultural interest in China, Japan, or the Middle East and also those students whose career aspirations necessitate learning the languages of these regions and gaining familiarity with their cultures. Students can design their major or minor programs in consultation with a professor in their area of focus (Arabic, Chinese, Hebrew, or Japanese).
