The German major and minor programs cultivate global citizens primed for success in a twenty-first-century democracy promoting tolerance and respect for cultural diversity. We focus on enhancing learners' proficiency in intercultural communication by providing funding for every student to study abroad. Our courses foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills that can successfully be translated to a variety of jobs (see our list of alumni). Most students gain interpersonal skills by working as Language Learning Assistants and Peer Tutors in the Language Center. Students work closely with faculty mentors to develop career paths focusing on their strengths.
