The German-speaking world has been home to Mozart and Bach, Nietzsche and Heidegger, Klimt and Klee, Einstein and Bohr. Germany today is the strongest economy in Europe, has one of the fastest growing independent art scenes (in Berlin), and is a worldwide research leader in fields from renewable energy to nanotechnology. The program offers a German major (36 credits) and a German minor (18 credits). Course offerings include language courses on all levels, as well as German film, culture, and literature courses both in German and English. The German Club provides a variety of opportunities for students to participate in cultural events, Spring 2016 German Film Series and other outings. Through the Montclair-Graz exchange, students have the opportunity to study in Austria.
