Social Justice- Latino and Chicano Studies (AA-T) is an interdisciplinary academic program that provides students an in-depth analysis of the rich life experiences of Latinos and Chicanos in the Americas. The program emphasizes comparative and transnational study of Latinos and Chicanos. Three major areas of focus include historical study, contemporary social issues, and literature. A degree in Social Justice: Latino and Chicano Studies will help students develop professional skills, ethical integrity, leadership skills, and access to professional networks andor advanced degree programs. The AA-T degree in Social Justice: Latino and Chicano Studies is primarily designed for students who will be transferring to CSU, and who will eventually receive a Bachelors of Arts degree.<br><br>An Associate in Arts Transfer degree in Social Justice may be earned by completing 60 semester units of CSU transferable coursework, including the major requirements and CSU or IGETC GE-breadth requirements, with a minimum overall grade point average (GPA) of 2.0. Students must complete all courses required for the major with a minimum grade of C.
