The certificate requires 15 hours at or above the 200 level that are passed with a C or better with an overall average of 2.5 GPA or higher. Courses cannot be taken passfail. As part of the certificate, students must take one class in each of the following four categories: Foundations of Linguistics, Historical Linguistics, Language and Society, and Language Structure and Use.
