Students in this program examine the counseling field through courses focusing on counseling theories, multiculturalism, counseling resources, and prevention. This 36-credit hour program connects you with nationally known researchers exploring the counseling profession to provide the following- preliminary training for students who are interested in pursuing doctoral studies in professional psychology (e.g., counseling psychology, school psychology, clinical psychology) and doctoral programs in counselor education and supervision. Training in basic helping and interpersonal skills that are essential for success in a variety of careers related to human services.
