Accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), the Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling is designed for students who wish to become mental health counselors and meet the curricular requirements for state of Texas counselor licensure (Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC).<br>This clinical program emphasizes creativity, diversity, developmental and relational processes, ethics, and professional identity within Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Students may earn credit toward a state license and/or certification to practice in clinical settings (i.e., Licensed Professional Counselor, etc.).<br>Once students complete the 60-hour CMHC degree, their training will meet or exceed standards established by state and national bodies. The 60-hour CMHC program provides students with a competitive degree when seeking licensure, applying for Federal employment, working with military families and veterans, and seeking reimbursement through TRICARE and other insurance panels.
