Most students who apply to and are enrolled in the Ph.D. program have earned a Master's degree (post-MA) in counseling or a related field. However, in Fall 2010, we began offering a ?post-BA? track within our Ph.D. program for highly-qualified students who have not yet earned a Master's degree in counseling-related field and wish to apply directly to a Ph.D. program. Having a post-BA Ph.D. program allows us to accept qualified applicants to the Ph.D. program who may have work, volunteer, or research experience in counseling or a related profession,
A minimum undergraduate grade-point average (GPA) of 3.00 on the equivalent of the last 60 semester hours (approximately two years of work) or a master's degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 is required.
Minimum IELTS requirement: 7.0
Minimum TOEFL requirement: 92 internet (iBT), 580 paper-based test (PBT)

课程简介
The Ph.D. program in Counseling Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is accredited by the American Psychological Association and is designed to prepare students for the role of professional psychologist, and to foster understanding of the scientific basis for practice, multicultural competence, and a social justice orientation. The theoretical orientation of the program is best described as eclectic/interpersonal. The Ph.D. program involves required coursework in Counseling Psychology and related departments, as well as a series of supervised clinical training experiences. The length of the program for students entering with a Master's in the counseling field is at least five years (63 total semester credits minimum): three years (if full time) coursework plus one dissertator year and one internship year. Students entering without a Master's should expect to spend a minimum of six years to complete their degree.
