All graduate students are required to provide proof of the attainment of a Bachelor’s degree before enrolling at the University of Houston.

Grade Point Average Requirements: Admission requirements for the College of Education require a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.6 for undergraduate coursework or over the last 60 credit hours of coursework. The College requires a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 for graduate coursework.

English Language Proficiency Requirements

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)

The minimum TOEFL score required is 79 for the internet-based test. The minimum TOEFL score for the paper-based exam is 550.

IELTS (International English Language Testing Service)

The minimum IELTS score required is an overall score of a 6.5.
