The Bachelor of Arts in History is designed to provide students with the skills necessary to research and interpret the past. Emphasis is placed upon active participation in the creative process of historical inquiry. History students can take elective courses in literature, communication arts, political science, anthropology, psychology plus other arts and social science courses. Students who want to prepare for careers in business may want to elect courses in management, marketing, computer science, accounting, and finance. Many history majors have used their degrees to enter the teaching profession, but that is not the only thing you can do with your degree Just as often, history graduates become researchers, writers and editors, journalists, archivists, museum curators, librarians, government officeholders, and non-profit administrators, or they continue their education in history or law.
