课程简介
Get specialized training to advance your professional knowledge and open new career opportunities in education. Designed for early childhood educators, the bachelor's degree in child development and family studies allows you to concentrate your study in administration, curriculum, family support or infant and toddler. The child development major is offered through multiple delivery methods to students living in both rural and urban Alaska. Graduates of the program have a competitive advantage when applying for positions of greater responsibility and compensation and meet the National Association for the Education of Young Children's standards. Child development includes the physical, emotional, intellectual and social changes that take place as children grow and mature. Child development is strongly influenced by both genetic and environmental factors, such as education, diet and exercise. Because the early years of a child's life are especially important for healthy development, it's crucial for parents and teachers to ensure that these social, emotional and educational needs are being met.
