The field of human development examines biological and psychological changes across the lifespan, from infancy through adulthood, with practical implications for work with families and in school and community settings. In this 90-credit hour research-intensive doctoral program, the importance of sociocultural context is a central theme of training, as is a focus on diverse populations. As a student in this program you will be initially paired with a faculty mentor based on shared interests. They will then work closely with you on supervised research projects that will progress to independent research as your skills develop. You will also receive training in college teaching as an Associate Instructor. Our recent graduates are employed as research and teaching faculty, institutional researchers, data-analysts, and consultants in academic and non-academic positions.
