课程简介
The Margaret Ritchie School of Family and Consumer Sciences offers undergraduate options focused on development, family sciences, nutrition, resource management, clothing and more. Students receive a Bachelor of Science in family and consumer sciences (B.S.F.C.S.) or a Bachelor of Science in early childhood development and education (B.S.E.C.D.E.). As the second largest employer in the world, the apparel industry offers many opportunities, from creating an original clothing line to buying for major retailers. Faculty strive to maintain consistent student access to industry standard equipment (i.e. industrial sewing machines and dress forms). The program adopted a ''one student to one piece of equipment'' allocation to ensure all students are able to follow course instruction and have continued access to equipment during open lab times. This provides students practical experience using apparel industry equipment while ensuring that students are able to complete individual work in a timely manner.
