La Raza Studies is an interdisciplinary academic program that provides students with an in-depth analysis of the rich life experiences of Chicanasos and Latinasos in the Americas. The program emphasizes comparative and trans-border study of Latinosas and indigenous people. Three major areas of focus include historical study, contemporary social issues, and literature. A degree in La Raza Studies will help students develop professional skills, ethical integrity, leadership skills, and access to professional networks andor advanced degree programs. An Associate in Arts Degree may be earned by completing a minimum of 60 units of degree credit coursework, including the major requirements and breadth requirements, with a minimum grade point average of 2.0. Students must complete all courses for the major with a grade of C or better.<br><br>Some possible careers- Government careers law, education, Social Work, Journalism, politics, counseling, international relations, creative writing, Public Administrator Research, and Police Officer.
