The department offers a comprehensive program on the study of Central Eurasia, the vast heartland of Europe and Asia. Students are introduced to the area as a whole and specialize in one of the major regions within Central Eurasia. The Department of Central Eurasian Studies (CEUS) is affiliated with the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies (HLS) of the College of Arts and Sciences, dedicated to providing Indiana University (IU) graduate students with the intellectual tools they will need to live, work, and thrive in the globalized world of the twenty-first century.
