Oakland University's interdisciplinary health sciences major lets you explore the full range of options, while completing prerequisite coursework for graduate school or professional health sciences degrees. You'll cultivate well-rounded expertise that supports almost any health sciences career pathway, while choosing an academic track in pre-med, pre-pharmacy, nutrition, community engagement, or holistic health. Our health sciences degree enables you to get deeply involved in research, work in clinical settings, and acquire hands-on experience that's rarely available to undergraduate health science majors. Whether you advance to a graduate program or directly into the workforce, our health sciences degree sets you up to succeed.<br> <br>The nutrition and health concentration area prepares students for work in a variety of clinical and public health fields that emphasize the relationship between diet, nutrition, food access and health status. Students majoring in Health Sciences can expect to complete a multi-disciplinary, science-based curriculum that will prepare them for a broad range of careers. Our students have gone on to graduate school and professional work in dentistry, dietetics and nutrition, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, physician assistants, public health, among others.
