From the obesity epidemic to rising rates of diabetes, heart disease and cancer, nutrition plays a critical role in improving patient outcomes. A degree in Nutrition and Dietetics can lead you down any number of fascinating career paths - all depending on where you feel called to serve. Our graduates work in hospitals and home health agencies, food and nutrition publications to sports teams and fitness clubs. For more than 80 years, Samford University's Nutrition and Dietetics program has been preparing students to become competent, entry-level dietitians or dietetic technicians. In fact, our innovative curriculum has long included courses that just recently were added as requirements by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics for accreditation, including an externship under the supervision of a registered dietitian and an undergraduate research project.
