Applicants must have a minimum overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.00 on a 4.00 grade scale equivalent to U.S. bachelor’s degree. If your GPA meets the minimum admission requirements, the department of major will determine if your overall academic record and test scores meet department requirements. Note: If you do not meet the minimum 3.00 GPA, your application can be considered for admission if you: earned an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher for your last 60 semester credits or 90 quarter credits OR worked in the program specific profession for 5 plus years, obtained a letter of support from a faculty member in the department, written a detailed statement/essay describing your professional experience and potential to succeed academically, The following are acceptable as proof of English Language Proficiency: TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): minimum overall score of 79, IELTS (International English Language Testing System): minimum overall score of 6.5, College of Graduate Studies requires a minimum TOEFL score of 550 paper based. Each application requires three (3) Letters of Recommendation (LOR). Gather the names and email addresses of your recommenders. All graduate school applicants must possess the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree. An official academic record from all post-secondary education institutions attended is required. This may take some time so start this early in your application process. Statement of Purpose, Resume or Curriculum Vitae (CV) Transcript Scans (if applicable) In the instance that official records cannot be obtained, unofficial records may be used to consider your application
To be considered official, all academic records and test scores (ie. transcripts, degree certificates, GRE, TOEFL) must be sent directly from the institution and/or testing center to Graduate Admissions.

Merging biological, cognitive and computational neurosciences, this interdisciplinary program provides the broad academic foundation and diverse research experiences you need to study and contribute to the scientific understanding of brain and spinal cord function. The program addresses all aspects of the highly integrated field, including the study of the nervous system biology, the cognitive and behavioral processes, and the applications of mathematics and computer science to understand and model neurological function. As a student in the program, you will focus your degree work in an area of the field that interests you and best prepares you for your career and research goals. Areas of specialization include neurobiology, cognitive neuroscience, and computational neuroscience.
