The brain is composed of multiple networks of interconnected neurons and brain areas whose ensemble activity support both sensory and cognitive function. Computational and cognitive neuroscience aims at understanding how the structure and activity of these brain networks supports human brain function. Investigators in this field focus on understanding human sensory and cognitive functions such as vision, attention, memory, and decision-making. They use diverse tools-magnetic resonance imaging technology, neurophysiological recordings, and behavioral measurements-in their research.
