国际学生入学条件

As a part of the doctoral program a student must complete a master's degree in psychology with at least a 3.20 GPA in graduate psychology courses exclusive of thesis and independent study courses, including at least a 3.00 GPA in the master's foundation courses and an acceptable research thesis. An applicant whose native language is not English must present an IELTS score of 6.5 or alternatively, a TOEFL score of at least 80 on the TOELF ibt.
Achieved a 2.75 grade point average on a 4.00 scale, or the equivalent.
Program Requires GRE: No (fall 2022)
Letters of Recommendation: 3
Additional Application Requirements
Must have completed a master's degree in a related field. If you do not have a master's degree, please apply to the master's psychology program, which is completed as part of the Ph.D. track.

课程简介

At NIU, our Ph.D. program in neuroscience and behavior is designed to prepare you for careers in research and teaching in academic, industry or other settings. You receive extensive training with respect to theory and research in neuroscience, the biological bases of behavior and animal learning and motivation. A rigorous curriculum includes graduate course work in biopsychology, learning/plasticity, neuroanatomy, neuropharmacology and research methodology. Flexibility in our program allows for an individualized program to be developed in conjunction with independent studies with individual faculty members.
