A Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies encompasses interdisciplinary study of global, international, and regional politics, economics, culture, and society. The global studies degree will provide students with training and education appropriate to individuals seeking careers in diplomatic service, non-governmental organizations, international organizations, and foreign policy. Students will be prepared to undertake graduate studies in a variety of fields with international orientation. Graduates of the program will be able to contribute to Texas Tech’s vision of championing global engagement, educating a diverse and globally competitive work force, and enhancing the cultural and economic development of the state, nation, and world. The global studies major requires students to take 18 hours of required courses, and 24 hours of prescribed electives, with a minimum of 24 hours at 3000- or 4000-level.
