International English Language Testing Systems (IELTS Academic Test) minimum score of 6.0 on each test (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking).
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) minimum test scores of 80 on the Internet-Based Test (TOEFL iBT), 60 on the Paper-Delivered Test, or 550 on the Paper-Based Test.
Canadian Test of English for Scholars and Trainees (CanTest) average score of 4.5.
Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) minimum Level 8 on each test. Canadian Language Benchmarks Placement Test (CLBPT) is not accepted.
Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL) minimum Band 60.
Michigan English Test (MET) minimum score 59.

This program brings together the study of science, your creativity and love of the outdoors to prepare you for a challenging and rewarding career. You develop an in-depth knowledge of growing plants and an understanding of the horticulture industry. You also build strong technical, leadership and interpersonal skills and learn to apply them working with industry partners on various projects. After your first year, you choose between a Landscape or Operations concentration in second year to further prepare for your career.<br>Career options<br>As the horticulture industry continues to evolve and expand, new opportunities are emerging in areas such as living walls and green roofs, turf management, horticulture therapy, recreation and environmental sustainability.<br>Graduates are prepared to work in a variety of industries in horticulture. These include nurseries, greenhouses, garden centres, farm markets, interior and exterior landscape operations, parks, botanical gardens and more.<br>Learn more about labour market information. View career options<br>Future study options<br>To become certified in the Landscape Horticulturist trade, you must register as an apprentice with Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Agency (NSAA). Once registered, you can transfer credit from this program towards your apprenticeship.<br>This program is a first step towards certification in the Landscape Horticulturist trade. Red Seal Landscape Horticulturist is a designated trade in Nova Scotia. The Red Seal allows certified tradespersons to practise the trade in any province or territory in Canada where the trade is designated without having to write further examinations.
