Students in this hands-on major study the science, business, and technology of agriculture and food systems with an emphasis on the management applications supporting production agriculture. The program combines students' creativity and interest in physical and biological sciences, technology, mathematics, and business with their desire to develop innovative solutions to a variety of agricultural problems. Areas of application include precision agricultural operations and services, management of farms and agricultural businesses, production operations, sales, and promotional work in domestic and international agricultural communities. A professional internship is strongly recommended prior to graduation. The major in agricultural technology and production management is part of the bachelor of science degree in agricultural and food systems.
