This course, with an integrated foundation year, will teach you the importance of location, context and customer, preparing you for a fast-paced, professional career in interior design. This a useful entry point if you don't have the qualifications needed to enter a degree-level course directly, or if you're uncertain which pathway to follow. You'll be introduced to a variety of key topics (from fashion and interior design to marketing and promotion) and gain the fundamental skills to confidently progress to degree-level. Once you've successfully completed your foundation year, you'll progress to the first year of BA (Hons) Interior Design.<br><br>At degree level, you'll examine public and private spaces and learn how new designs are created in response to the purpose of a space and the needs of its user – considering its history, location, size, architecture and environmental impact. Create your own personal approaches, and design spaces that improve the lives of those who use them. You'll develop hand drawings, digital visualisations, 3D prints and physical models – building designs in our workshop, before documenting them in our photography studio. You'll also learn the financial and marketing aspects of the industry, developing the business acumen to maintain a career in this industry. Your studies will be enhanced by field trips to museums, galleries and exhibitions, and guest talks from industry insiders including architects, designers and project managers. You'll also have the chance to work on live briefs with real clients – proposing inventive and thought-provoking design solutions for existing London sites while working to tight deadlines, ambitions and budgets.<br><br>You'll participate in a wide range of industry-focused events, activities and collaborations while you're at Regent's – providing inspiration and opportunities for you to network and forge professional relationships with industry experts. Graduate with the skills, creativity and confidence to create spaces that positively impact those who use them – prepared for a career spanning sectors including commercial, residential and retail design. As well as becoming interior designers and architects, you can work in related fields such as product, furniture, landscape and set design. Using our strong links with industry experts and showcasing students' work at external events, we've helped graduates gain positions at a number of highly-regarded design agencies including Squire & Partners, AIS Workplace, FutureBrand, Household, Dalziel & Pow and MoreySmith.
