Become a Building Design and Interior Design master with the dual qualification in Diploma of Building Design and Diploma of Interior Design and Decoration. This dual qualification has been specifically designed to give our students the knowledge and skills from both Industries and provide the best chance at employment. In our design labs, you will develop skills in providing advice for designing innovative building designs and interiors, developing complete design schemes for the residential, commercial or retail interior spaces, working with a client brief and within project constraints. You will learn about construction, town planning, material selections, 3d modelling documentation, furnishings styles, colour, light and pattern in interior space all whilst using the latest computer software including: Autodesk Revit, CAD, SketchUp, Lumion, Adobe Premiere, InDesign and Photoshop. Learn specialist skills in Building Design and Interior Design including: 3D computer aided drafting conducting site surveys, construction materials technology, commercial documentation compliance for sustainable design. This program covers the theory and practical skills to produce documentation for Residential and Commercial Building Approval for Class 1 and Class 2 to 9, building Type A, B and C in accordance with the provisions of the National Construction Code of Australia. Develop skills to design innovative interiors, complete design schemes Present your ideas with photorealistic 3d models, industry standard documentation and details and a thorough understanding of the complexities of buildability in accordance with codes. Create Buildings and Interiors that others will admire and you could be designing Residential and Commercial projects, including new homes, or renovations, small commercial office or retail buildings, industrial projects such as factories or warehouses. This program will prepare you to work as an interior designer, architectural or building design assistant, building designer, interior visualisation artist, colour consultant, interior stylist or furnishings agent.
