One particularly important part of building surveying is complying with regulatory requirements for refurbishments and new build projects. So well look at legislation like the 2015 Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations. Governments across the world are also encouraging the construction industry to introduce Lean Construction and Building Information Modelling (BIM). Lean Construction aims to manage and improve the whole process of design, construction and end-use of a building project to achieve minimum cost and maximum value. And Business Information Models help to manage the costs of materials and labour for a project, which can help Building Surveyors manage the building environment through its lifecycle.
