The Plumbing Trades program provides learners with a well-rounded education in construction principles and best practices with an emphasis on real-world hands-on learning experience in all facets of the plumbing industry. Learners design and build plumbing systems from the ground up (both residential and commercial) and have extensive knowledge of plumbing repair. They will participate in various service-learning plumbing projects that will prepare learners for a fulfilling trade profession in plumbing. The certificate includes both laboratory work and classroom study and is designed in cooperation with local plumbing contractors. Students will learn basic skills required to pursue a career in the plumbing industry. The program and faculty are certified under the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). Upon completion of the certificate, students can join a local apprenticeship in residential plumbing and work towards a journeyman license.
