Steamfitters/Pipefitters have the skills to layout, assemble, install, repair and maintain heating, cooling, process pipe and industrial piping systems. In this program, you develop skills to install and connect piping systems, including processes that convey gases or the tubing for any pneumatic or air-handling system. You're introduced to design drawings and installation programs for a variety of systems. In a workshop setting that reflects industry practice and safety standards, you learn to use hand tools, power tools and shop equipment, to select materials, to cut, join and fabricate piping and fittings, to perform electric tack welding and oxy-fuel cutting, and rigging practices.
