The VCE years are an intense period of growth and achievement. At Ivanhoe Girls', students are encouraged to immerse themselves in the rich cultural life of the School, while they are fully supported to achieve their academic potential. <br>Years 11 and 12 are the most exciting years of schooling for many students. For VCE students at Ivanhoe Girls', the focus moves to supporting independent learning, while students undertake greater responsibilities in leadership and service. Co-curricular opportunities and House activities create a vibrant and lively atmosphere, and student-led initiatives engage the whole-school community. <br><br>At Ivanhoe Girls', students are encouraged to commence their VCE studies in Year 10. By completing one subject by the end of Year 11 (VCE subjects are two-year courses), students may take up an additional VCE subject in Year 12, or choose to focus on their remaining VCE subjects. <br><br>The VCE program is very flexible, and can be completed over a number of years to accommodate the needs of individual students, especially those with sporting commitments or chronic illness. It also also allows for highly-capable students to complete extension studies such as a first-year university subject or a vocational subject.
