The master's degree (MEd) in counselor education is designed specifically for people who want to become professional counselors, whether they are currently working in the field of education or are seeking a new career path. Upon completion, graduate students are eligible for certification as a K-12 professional school counselor or they may plan additional coursework to become a licensed professional counselor (LPC). This program allows students to specialize in an area that meets their career goals. The program also gives educators the opportunity to develop the skills necessary to become an effective, understanding, and compassionate resource for students.
