Graduate program applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the last 60 semester (90 quarter) units attempted and a minimum of 3.0 on any post baccalaureate work at Fresno State.Graduate program applicants who do not meet this requirement but meet the University minimum GPA requirement for graduate admissions (2.5) may be considered for admission at the discretion of the program admission committee based on compelling evidence of academic and professional potential (i.e. recent academic performance, extensive experiential background) as described in the Statement of Purpose.

Those who do not possess a bachelor's degree from a postsecondary institution where English is the principal language of instruction must receive a minimum score of 550 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). (Some campuses require a higher score.) Applicants taking the computer-based TOEFL must present a score of 213 or above. (Some campuses or programs require a higher score.) In the case of graduate admissions, the CSU minimum for the internet (TOEFL iBT) version of the TOEFL is 80.

The M.S. in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling is a 60-unit accredited program that aims to prepare professionals who are culturally competent, and able to provide rehabilitation and mental health counseling to clients in an ethical manner while adhering to the Code of Professional Ethics and Scope of Practice for the profession. The program offers two concentrations: Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling.<br><br>Our graduate program places a strong emphasis on field experiences to create opportunities to put evidence based practice into counseling settings. Students benefit from hands-on experiences combined with foundational counseling courses to develop counseling skills, leadership skills, and equity driven practices.<br><br>Students have the ability to pursue certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) and National Certified Counselor, as well as undergo requirements that position them for the Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) credential. The program has earned top rankings in the nation by U.S. News and World Report, and is a national leader in hands-on, real world rehabilitation in California and beyond.<br><br>The Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling (CRC) concentration is fully accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), a specialized accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). This accreditation allows you to gain competence in counseling knowledge and skills, personal growth, and development of a professional counselor identity and dispositions. While the Clinical Mental Health Concentration has not received CACREP accreditation as a brand new program, students are still prepared under CACREP standards to ensure a high-quality, well-rounded education for all of our students.
