Multi-disciplinary studies, English as a Second Language (ESL), is meant to encourage individuals to enter the teaching profession. This curriculum is designed to provided graduates with the needed foundation of teaching skills based on the latest in instructional theory, coupled with the broad knowledge needed to teach at the elementary, middle and high school levels. In addition, the ESL program includes required curricular content in a foreign language such as Spanish, French or German. Students in licensure programs also engage in extensive clinical experiences in public schools for hands-on training in pedagogy, professional collaboration and classroom management.
