The TESOL Certificate Program acquaints students with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to teach English as a second or foreign language. It would be useful to anyone interested in teaching English as a Second Language to immigrants in community agency ESL courses in the U.S. or to people who would like to teach English as a Foreign Language abroad. To get an undergraduate TESOL certificate a student needs to take five courses at the undergraduate (400) level. This option is open to all undergraduate students regardless of their major. It is also available to post-baccalaureate students as well as to non-degree undergraduate students.
