This certificate is designed for school leaders seeking the Director of Special Education endorsement on the Professional Educator License (PEL). It is available to candidates who can document two full years of full-time special education teaching or service as a school social worker, psychologist, or speech language pathologist on a valid PEL. Candidates must have attained a GPA of at least 3.20 in their most recent degree program. Individuals who do not have a master's degree at the start of the program must have completed a master's degree and pass the appropriate content area test prior to recommendation for the Director of Special Education endorsement. Application materials for this certificate are available through the Department of Special and Early Education.
