It will prepare you either for primary or secondary school teaching. Students specialising in secondary education will qualify as specialist art teachers, while students specialising in primary education will be qualified to teach across the school curriculum but with particular expertise in art. In addition to being eligible to seek employment in schools, this combination will enable you to seek opportunities in the creative arts world where an understanding of learning and development is relevant, perhaps in community cultural programs, museums and galleries or therapeutic settings. You will investigate the broader function of the visual arts in society today, learn from active visual-art practitioners and develop your own skills and creativity as you rotate through a range of workshops including painting, printmaking, photography and sculpture. This course is equivalent to 4.25 years of full-time study and offered only in accelerated mode to complete in 4 years.
