Innovate, create and lead projects that make a real difference to individuals and empower communities. Our brand new three-year course is aimed at people committed to social justice who are passionate about making a positive impact. We want you to put your skills to use in community action, on issues such as gang violence, promoting mental health or re-engaging pupils in referral units. On the course, youll explore learning beyond the typical context of schools, in informal spaces such as youth groups, hospitals, community organisations and with the homeless. Youll study techniques such as mentoring, group work, and creative games, understanding how to use these skills to help re-connect young people with learning, and recognise their potential. We'll focus on teamwork. Developing your understanding of how groups operate and building your skills in managing conflict. Entrepreneurship will also be a key factor, youll learn practical skills, like how to write funding bids, turning your ideas into action. Our strong links with projects in Greater Manchester allows you to get involved with real community issues. Weve previously worked with the Proud Trust, Reclaim, People's History Museum, Royal Exchange Theatre and various sports organisations.
