The Department of Curriculum Studies at the University of Saskatchewan offers a graduate program that addresses the relationship between practice and theory in curriculum research, design, implementation, evaluation, and leadership.Those choosing to pursue a Master of Education in Curriculum Studies will be encouraged to focus on aspects of praxis leading to expertise and leadership in that area. The Department of Curriculum Studies offers a flexible program with three defined areas of focus: Curriculum Innovation, Early Childhood Education and English as an Additional Language. Students in each focus take similar core courses and different electives that suit their learning goals. While each individual course has a focus, students are also expected to develop aspects of their area of interest. In addition to course offerings from Curriculum Studies, students are able to take elective courses from other departments providing these courses contribute to their areas of interest. Students may also take up to 6 cu of coursework through another Western Canadian university if these courses are approved as part of their official Program of Studies.
