The Curriculum Studies concentration in the Curriculum and Instruction PhD Program provides students with a core of basic knowledge germane to the field of curriculum studies, and relevant to both the processes of curriculum development and the critique of extant curriculum materials, practices and policies in school and non-school settings. Central to our interpretations of curriculum studies is urban education and its global and local counterparts. This program is highly visible nationally as well as internationally because the main advisors for this program are scholars at the forefront of the curriculum studies community.
