The earth and space science teacher education program at Illinois State prepares you to teach high school science. Once you graduate, you’ll be ready and certified to teach all high school science courses, including: Earth Science, Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, APHonors Geology and APHonors Earth Science. There’s a high demand for teachers in Illinois, especially in the Chicago area. Our teacher education program has a long history and is rooted in excellence. We prepare the most teachers in the state and rank at a national level for quality and value. The earth and space teacher education program is small. You’ll study all the topics you love about science and train to be a well-qualified high school teacher. Your hands-on learning experience starts as soon as you enroll in the program. You’ll observe a variety of diverse classrooms and end with student teaching. Our dedicated geology and geography faculty will be there to support your whole journey.
