Multi-disciplinary studies, middle school, social studies (grades 6-8) is meant to encourage individuals to enter the teaching profession. It prepares students for leadership, teaching and service roles in public schools and other educational services. The middle school education curriculum is designed to provided graduates with the needed foundation of teaching skills based on the latest in instructional theory, coupled with the broad knowledge in reading and writing skills as well as content in math, science and history, needed to teach at the middle school level. Students in licensure programs also engage in extensive clinical experiences in public schools for hands-on training in pedagogy, professional collaboration and classroom management.
