The Early Childhood Care and Education faculty views education of the whole person as an active life-long learning process. This process starts with the recognition that each student entering the program arrives with a unique base of knowledge, feelings, commitments, responsibilities and actions. ECCE guides students to acquire the competencies that will provide them the essential skills to deliver overall quality child care and education. In addition the program reflects the following philosophies with regards to student learning, the learning environment and student's personal growth: Education, vocation and life are inseparable, Individual experiences and backgrounds enrich the learning climate and Learning is a life-long pursuit.Our mission is to support and promote high-quality early childhood education through a comprehensive theoretical framework and multiple practical experiences for our students and the children in their care. ECCE students are the heart of our department and their success and growth are what drive our commitment to mentor the next generation of educators.
